How it works

Renting is simpler than it looks. Here's the whole deal.

  1. 1. Reserve it

Find what you need by project or category, pick your dates right on the page, add it to your cart, and reserve online. Every price is on the page — day rate, weekly rate, and the security deposit — so there's nothing to discover at the counter. Prefer to talk it through? Just call us.

The security deposit is a hold on your card at pickup, not a charge. Your bank shows that much less available until we release it, which we do when the equipment comes back the way it left. It's separate from your rental price — never money off your total, and never money on top of it once it's back.

  2. 2. Pick it up (or have it delivered)

Swing by the yard in Hudson, WI — we're open Mon–Fri 7:30am–5:30pm · Sat 8am–2pm. Bring your driver's license. Renting a trailer? Bring a tow vehicle with the right hitch ball — we list the ball size on every trailer's page so you can check yours in the driveway before you leave home.

Before anything rolls out, we do a quick condition walk-around together — a couple of photos, thirty seconds — so we both know exactly what shape it left in. Can't make it to the yard? We'll bring it and pick it up again for one fee based on distance; ask when you reserve.

  3. 3. Use it

Rates are simple: a day rate for short jobs, a weekly rate that's cheaper per day for long ones. Weekend days each count — a Friday-to-Sunday rental is three days. And there's a grace window on returns, so hitting traffic on the way back doesn't roll you into another day.

Anything with an engine comes with an hour allowance for each rental day — it's on the machine's page, along with the per-hour rate if you run past it.

  4. 4. Bring it back

We check it in together with the same walk-around we did at pickup, comparing against the photos we took at pickup. Everything looks right — and it almost always does — and your security deposit comes back. That's it.

Frequently asked questions

Will my vehicle tow it?+

Every listing says what it takes: whether it fits in an SUV, or the hitch and ball a trailer needs. If you're not sure what your truck can pull, call us with the make and model and we'll tell you.

What fits in what

Do you rent by the day, the week or longer?+

All three: a day rate, a week rate and a 4-week rate. The cheapest one for your dates applies on its own — book five days and you pay the week rate if that's less — and each listing shows how much the longer rates save.

Can I cancel or change my reservation?+

Yes — request a change or a cancellation from your order page, or call us. The yard confirms it and any price difference. The sooner the better — it puts the gear back on the calendar for someone else. The specifics are in the rental terms on your order.

Rental terms

Do I need insurance?+

For most tools, no. Two kinds of gear do need it, and each listing says which.

Proof of insurance — for anything that travels on the road behind your vehicle, like a trailer or an ATV going out on one. Your own auto policy covers it; bring the card from your wallet and we'll note the carrier and expiry at pickup.

Certificate of insurance — for pro-grade gear like a large chipper. That one your insurance agent issues, so ask a day or two ahead. You can reserve online in the meantime.

Renting also needs a valid driver's license, and riders must be 18 or older.

Do you deliver?+

Not right now — everything is picked up at the yard. Most of the fleet fits in an SUV, and we'll hitch up a trailer for what doesn't.

How does the security deposit work?+

The security deposit is a hold on your card at pickup, not a charge. Your bank shows that much less available until we release it, which we do when the equipment comes back the way it left. It's separate from your rental price — never money off your total, and never money on top of it once it's back.

What if I break it?+

Most gear can add an optional damage waiver when you reserve — it covers accidental damage from normal use, so an honest mishap doesn't turn into a bill. Without a waiver, repair costs come out of the security deposit first, and we'll always walk you through it before anything is charged.

When are you open?+

Mon–Fri 7:30am–5:30pm · Sat 8am–2pm.
